The wrap on 112HD looks sartorially exquisite & brilliantly Loud, which is our constant goal at Loudmouth! I’m so happy you all embraced this project with me and did such a fantastic and professional job on the cowling wrap. As you may have heard I’m sometimes known as Larry “Loudmouth” Jackson the owner of Loudmouth Golf the company that has sponsored and clothed the PGA Tour’s original Wild Thing, John Daly, for the past decade. As you can imagine, many stories have come out of the last 10 years of a professional relationship and friendship w JD.
But we are here to talk about planes! Let me give you a little history on 112HD, she was ordered originally from Piper in 2000 by a Harley Davidson executive thus the Harley Davidson orange paint, the black pinstripes, and the 2HD tail #. I will still hear the occasional radio call from a veteran controller, tower, or another pilot, “Hey, it’s the Harley plane!” I on the other hand as the owner of Loudmouth Golf have always wanted to add a little Loudmouth flair to her but she has run so well and been so recognizable as the “Harley plane” I have always been hesitant to change the paint scheme at all, admittedly for superstitious reasons. Right now I’m at the tail end of a piston to turbine engine JetProp conversion there in Spokane which stretches the nose of the plane an extra 11 inches to accommodate the engine. This means a new nosecone cowling was manufactured which gave me the perfect opportunity to augment the current paint scheme w/o actually changing any of the original paint on the body of the plane. Superstition disaster averted! I scoured the Loudmouth archives for something we have produced in orange & black and settled on this flowing little number called Splash Hits. It was originally produced for the San Francisco Giants which they sold for years at Scottsdale Stadium in men’s and women’s shorts during spring training (Loudmouth is a Bay Area company and we are all huge Giants, Niners & Dubs fans). This plane, wrap & story will get commented on at almost every place I land for the next 20 years and I’m very much looking forward to every single interaction!
